Paul O’Rourke dies in fatal Chester crash

Fatal Chester crash death of Paul O’Rourke – Obituary

Paul O’Rourke, a 58-year-old man from Ellesmere Port, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle collision on the A41 in Chester, near Backford Dip, on Saturday, May 10.

Emergency responders were dispatched around 11:45 a.m. following reports of a crash involving a grey Audi and a motorcycle. O’Rourke, who was riding the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was affectionately known as “Rocky” by family and friends.

In a heartfelt tribute, his family described him as “a loving husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and grandad,” adding that he will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A 23-year-old male driver of the Audi was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision, and failing to report the incident. He has been released on bail while police investigations continue.

Authorities are seeking further information from the public, particularly from two individuals who reportedly spoke with the Audi driver shortly after the accident. Investigators are also asking for any dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist in clarifying the events leading to the crash.

Inspector Steve Griffiths extended condolences to Paul O’Rourke’s loved ones and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and support the ongoing investigation.
