Sterling Roberts dies in fatal South Philadelphia shooting

Fatal South Philadelphia shooting death of Sterling Roberts – Obituary

Sterling Roberts, 38, was shot and killed late Thursday night inside a residence on Tree Street in South Philadelphia. Two other men were also injured in the incident.

 

The gunfire erupted shortly after 9 p.m. on the 700 block of Tree Street. When police arrived, they found Roberts deceased at the scene, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

 

A 36-year-old man was also discovered with gunshot injuries to his leg and backside and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds was located inside a nearby store. Authorities believe he, too, was shot inside the same home. He remains in critical condition.

 

Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene and believe a second weapon may have been involved. Police suspect that two of the injured individuals may have been active participants in the shooting.

 

The motive behind the incident remains unclear. Philadelphia police continue to investigate and encourage anyone with information to contact their homicide unit or use the anonymous tip hotline.
