Fatal Penrhiwceiber, Mountain Ash missing person death of Steven Smith – Obituary

Steven Smith, who had been reported missing earlier this week, has tragically been found deceased in the Penrhiwceiber area of Mountain Ash. He was last seen on the morning of Tuesday, May 20, leaving his home on Vaughan Terrace before briefly stopping at a local convenience shop.

Later that morning, he returned to his garage but departed again around 11:30 a.m., reportedly heading toward Abercynon. Authorities launched a large-scale search, releasing CCTV images and issuing public appeals for assistance in locating him.

On Friday, South Wales Police confirmed that a body had been discovered during the ongoing investigation. While formal identification is pending, Steven’s family has been informed of the development.

Police expressed their gratitude to those who circulated appeals and participated in search efforts.
