Anna Lopresti dies in fatal St. James car crash

Fatal St. James car crash death of Anna Lopresti – Obituary

Anna Lopresti, a 63-year-old resident of Saint James, lost her life on May 24 after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Middle Country Road near White Avenue. The tragic accident occurred around 6:45 p.m.

According to Suffolk County Police, Lopresti was attempting to cross the road heading southbound when she was struck by a 1999 Toyota Camry traveling east. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 57-year-old Natalio Osorio-Vargas from Centereach. He was not hurt during the incident.

Lopresti was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was later declared deceased. The vehicle involved in the crash was taken by authorities for a safety inspection.

Detectives from the Fourth Squad are currently handling the investigation and are asking anyone who may have details about the collision to contact them at 631-854-8452.
