Bay County, Florida Teen Brayden Raul Gomez Arrested in Panama City Beach for Murder of Lyft Driver

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA — Brayden Raul Gomez, a 17-year-old resident of Bay County, was arrested in Panama City Beach in connection with the fatal shooting of a Lyft driver early Saturday morning.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 2:30 a.m. to a location along Wildwood Road near the west side of Hathaway Bridge, where they discovered the victim in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. The man, who was not immediately identified, was confirmed to be a driver for the ride-sharing service Lyft.

Authorities quickly identified Gomez as the suspect and took him into custody. He is currently facing an open count of murder related to the incident.
