Beecher, IL Man Jasen Zurisk Arrested in Merrillville for Child Pornography Charges

BEECHER, ILLINOIS — Jasen N. Zurisk, a 49-year-old resident of Beecher, was arrested in Merrillville, Indiana, in connection with six counts of child pornography.

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, Zurisk was taken into custody on May 19 following an investigation that began on January 22, after the Oak Lawn Police Department received tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Detectives launched a thorough investigation that led to the execution of a search warrant at Zurisk’s residence on March 4, where multiple electronic devices were seized.

An arrest warrant was issued on April 29, and with assistance from the Merrillville Police Department, Zurisk was apprehended at approximately 4:25 p.m. in the 1300 block of 83rd Avenue. He was held at the Lake County Jail in Indiana until his extradition to Will County on May 19.

Zurisk was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility and is currently facing six felony charges related to child pornography.
