Fatal New Albany warehouse shooting death of Bruce Foster III – Obituary
Bruce Foster III, the man responsible for a deadly shooting at a New Albany warehouse earlier this year, is now facing multiple felony charges after the incident left two people dead and four others wounded. Foster was indicted on 19 charges, including several counts of murder, aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, aggravated burglary, and inducing panic.
The shooting took place on the night of February 4 at the KDC/One building, where approximately 150 employees were present. After the attack, Foster escaped using a rideshare service but was later apprehended in his Short North apartment following a lengthy manhunt.
A judge recently ruled that Foster is mentally unfit to stand trial and ordered him to undergo court-ordered hospitalization and treatment to restore his competency. Foster’s attorney had previously requested hospitalization before any trial proceedings.
The Licking County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of the two victims who lost their lives: 38-year-old Kyle Vaver of Pickerington, and 30-year-old Shekhar Chapagai, who succumbed to his injuries the following day. The other four individuals injured in the shooting were treated and survived.
The case continues to unfold as Foster remains in custody, awaiting further legal and mental health evaluations.
