Fatal Horry County shooting death of Fredrick Vansant Jr. – Obituary

Fredrick Vansant Jr. was found dead in a homicide investigation following a welfare check at a Burgess area residence in Horry County, South Carolina.

Officials say the Horry County Police Department responded to a call at a property on Dinger Court where an individual covered in blood, no longer a resident, answered the door. Upon searching the home, officers discovered Vansant deceased in a closet with evidence indicating a shooting had occurred.

Authorities have charged 53-year-old Joyanna Vansant with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. She is currently held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.
