Fatal Fresno County head-on crash death of Gabriel Vasquez – Obituary

Gabriel Vasquez, a 20-year-old man from Raisin City, was killed early Thursday morning in a head-on collision north of Huntsman Avenue, authorities reported.

The California Highway Patrol said Vasquez was driving a GMC Terrain southbound on South Hayes Avenue when, for reasons still unclear, his vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a Toyota Camry around 5:10 a.m.

Vasquez was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Camry’s two occupants, both 21-year-old men from Fresno, suffered moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role, but believe Vasquez may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
