Jose Spoonemore dies in fatal Long Beach freeway collision

Fatal Long Beach freeway collision death of Jose Spoonemore – Obituary

A tragic incident occurred early Friday when Jose Spoonemore, 23, was fatally hit by a truck while walking along the northbound side of the Long Beach (710) Freeway near the Wardlow Road off-ramp.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig, officers were dispatched to the scene around 12:03 a.m. and found Spoonemore lying on the roadway. Emergency responders from the Long Beach Fire Department pronounced him dead at the location.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the truck involved remained at the scene or fled. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified the victim as Jose Spoonemore.

A SigAlert was put into effect shortly after the collision, resulting in the closure of three northbound lanes for approximately three hours as investigators examined the scene and worked to determine the cause of the crash.
