Kenmare, Ireland Man Michael Kelley Arrested in Kerry for Alleged Involvement in Farmer’s Murder
KENMARE, IRELAND — Michael Kelley, a U.S. native and self-described asylum seeker residing in Kenmare, was arrested in County Kerry in connection with the murder investigation of local farmer Michael Gaine.
According to An Garda Síochána, Kelley was taken into custody earlier this week after dismembered human remains were discovered in a slurry tank on Gaine’s property. Authorities believe the remains are those of Gaine, who had been reported missing since March 20.
Kelley, who had been living and working on the farm for approximately three years, was arrested and interviewed but later released without charge. He continues to deny any involvement in Gaine’s death and claims he is being framed.
The investigation is ongoing, with Gardaí conducting forensic examinations and searching the area for further evidence.
