Nathan Lockwood dies in fatal Riverside car crash

Fatal Riverside car crash death of Nathan Lockwood – Obituary

Nathan Lockwood, a 29-year-old man from Long Beach, lost his life early Tuesday morning when his vehicle collided with a wall beneath a freeway underpass near UC Riverside.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 12:25 a.m. on Martin Luther King Boulevard, close to the I-215 transition ramps. According to Riverside Police Sgt. Emilio Angulo, Lockwood was driving a Honda sedan eastbound at high speed when the car struck a retaining wall beneath the freeway.

Emergency responders arrived within 10 minutes and pronounced him dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The case has been handed over to the Major Accident Investigation Team, and an autopsy was still pending as of Friday.
