Plainfield, Connecticut Woman Lisa Neal Arrested in Plainfield for Abusing Person with Autism

PLAINFIELD, CONNECTICUT — Lisa Neal, a 59-year-old resident of Plainfield, was arrested in Plainfield in connection with the long-term abuse of a person with autism who was in her care.

According to the Plainfield Police Department, Neal was taken into custody following an investigation into a complaint received on April 9. Authorities say Neal allegedly denied the victim access to a bathroom, forcing them to urinate in a trash can, and then poured the urine over their head without allowing them to change clothes.

Police also determined the abuse had been ongoing for several years. Neal, who served as the victim’s caretaker, is further accused of financially exploiting the individual by taking a significant portion of their monthly disability benefits.

Neal was transported to a detention facility and is currently facing multiple charges, including intentional cruelty to a person, assault on a person with an intellectual disability, unlawful restraint, intimidation based on bigotry or bias, abuse, larceny, and disorderly conduct. She is being held on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 27.
