Rogelio Peregrino dies in fatal north Phoenix car crash

Fatal north Phoenix car crash death of Rogelio Peregrino – Obituary

Rogelio Peregrino, 46, lost his life early Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle in north Phoenix, according to local authorities.

Police were called to the scene around 1 a.m. near 35th and Northern avenues following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. Peregrino was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Investigators say Peregrino had been walking in the northbound lanes of 35th Avenue at the time of the incident. The driver involved did not remain at the scene and fled before law enforcement arrived.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run. Phoenix Police are asking anyone with information to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers. Rewards may be available for tips that lead to an arrest.
