Sabroom, Tripura Man Sahel Tripura Arrested in Sabroom for Murder of 9-Year-Old Sister

SABROOM, TRIPURA — Sahel Tripura, an 18-year-old resident of Kaladepa Nalsing Sardar Para, was arrested in Sabroom in connection with the murder of his 9-year-old sister, Ujjashikha Tripura.

According to the Manubazar Police Station, Tripura was taken into custody on Thursday night from his residence. Authorities say the incident unfolded on Tuesday, May 20, when Ujjashikha was reported missing. Despite extensive searches by police and disaster management personnel, her body was discovered around 8 a.m. the following day in a forest near a rubber plantation.

Tripura was transported to Sabroom Court on Friday after a confession during police interrogation. His mother, Sabita Tripura, was also brought in for questioning but was released the next morning. Tripura is currently facing murder charges related to the incident.
