Southbury, CT Man Matthew Kimbrough Arrested in Southbury for Theft of Meat and Seafood

 

SOUTHBURY, CONNECTICUT — Matthew Kimbrough, a 63-year-old resident of Waterbury, was arrested in Southbury in connection with the theft of over $600 worth of steaks, ribs, salmon filets, and other items from a local grocery store.

 

According to the Southbury Police Department, Kimbrough was taken into custody on Friday during an attempted getaway as a passenger in a vehicle outside the Shop Rite Supermarket on Main Street South. Authorities say the incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. when store personnel reported an active larceny in progress.

 

Kimbrough was transported to the Southbury Police Department and is currently facing a charge of fifth-degree larceny related to the incident. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 3.
