Fatal Pico Rivera homicide death of Alfredo Escamilla – Obituary
Authorities have identified Alfredo Escamilla, a 68-year-old man, as the individual found dead early Wednesday morning in Pico Rivera. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrived shortly after 6 a.m. at a home in the 8300 block of Telegraph Road, close to the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, in response to a call about an unresponsive person.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department also responded and pronounced Escamilla dead at the location. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later confirmed his identity.
Following an investigation at the scene, deputies detained a man in his 40s who lived at the residence. The unnamed suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody at the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station. He is being held on \$2 million bail.
Officials have not released any details about what may have led to the deadly incident. The case is expected to be submitted to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
