Authorities have confirmed that Dominic Christopher Damian, 41, was among those who died in a small aircraft crash that occurred early Thursday morning in San Diego’s Murphy Canyon neighborhood.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office also identified 24-year-old Kendall An Fortner as another fatality from the crash. Both individuals were on board the Cessna plane at the time of the incident.
Earlier on Friday, officials had already released the names of three other victims from the crash: David Shapiro, 42; Emma L. Huke, 25; and Celina Marie Rose Kenyon, 36.
The tragic event took place around 3:45 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Salmon and Sculpin streets. All five individuals were reported to have died at the site, located in the 10200 block of Sample Street.
Federal investigators believe there were six people on the plane, all presumed to have died. Among them was Daniel Williams, former drummer of the band The Devil Wears Prada, who played with the group for ten years starting in 2005.
Tandem Management Company, which represents The Devil Wears Prada, acknowledged the loss in a social media post, highlighting the deaths of Williams, Fortner, Huke, and Shapiro as a significant loss to the music community.
The crash caused significant damage to nearby homes and vehicles, though no fatalities occurred on the ground. Several individuals were treated for smoke inhalation and injuries sustained while evacuating through windows.
