Dylan Martinez, a 1-month-old infant from Chicago Heights, tragically passed away Thursday morning following a medical emergency at his home.

Authorities reported that emergency responders were called to a residence in the 1400 block of Campbell Avenue after the child experienced a serious medical issue. The baby was taken to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, where he was pronounced dead at 8:45 a.m.

The Chicago Heights Police Department’s Detective Division is conducting an investigation in collaboration with the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
