Emma L. Huke dies in fatal San Diego plane crash

Fatal San Diego plane crash death of Emma L. Huke – Obituary

Emma L. Huke, 25, has been identified as one of the victims in the tragic plane crash that occurred early Thursday morning in a San Diego neighborhood. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed her death, along with those of David Shapiro, 42, and Celina Marie Rose Kenyon, 36. All three were aboard a Cessna aircraft that went down in the 10200 block of Sample Street at approximately 3:47 a.m.

Federal investigators believe all six individuals on the plane lost their lives. Although the crash sparked fires and damaged several homes and cars in the area, only a few people on the ground sustained minor injuries, primarily due to smoke inhalation or escaping through windows.

Emma was among those remembered by Tandem Management Company, which works with artists including the rock band The Devil Wears Prada. In a public tribute, the company honored Huke, Shapiro, Kendall Fortner, and Daniel Williams, a former drummer for the band, as significant losses to the music and arts community.

Emma’s professional background has not been publicly detailed, but her inclusion in the tribute suggests she may have worked in or around the music industry. Sound Talent Group, co-founded by Shapiro and based in San Diego, acknowledged the death of three team members in the crash but did not name them all.

The sixth victim was identified as Dominic Damian by a local gym, The Training Center, which plans to host a memorial open mat in his honor.

During a news conference held Friday, federal officials revealed early findings from the investigation. They indicated that key airport systems, including the approach lighting at Montgomery Gibbs Executive Airport—the intended destination—were not operational when the plane attempted to land.
