Fatal Morgan County car crash deaths of Jesse Davidsmeyer and Joel Noble – Obituary

Two students from Pittsfield High School, identified as senior Jesse Davidsmeyer and junior Joel Noble, lost their lives in a two-vehicle collision on May 24 in Morgan County, Illinois.

 

According to Morgan County Coroner Marcy Patterson, the crash occurred just after 2 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67 and Woodson Winchester Road in the town of Woodson, located approximately eight miles south of Jacksonville.

 

The Pikeland School District, which includes Pittsfield High School, is mourning the loss. Superintendent Todd Fox expressed the district’s deep sorrow and described the community’s emotional state as one of profound grief and shock.

 

In response to the tragedy, the school has canceled its scheduled baccalaureate ceremony and organized a community prayer gathering at the high school football field for 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Counseling and support services will be available to students, staff, and local residents.

 

The Illinois State Police reported that in addition to the fatalities, four other individuals were injured in the crash, with two requiring air transport to regional hospitals. U.S. 67 was shut down for roughly six hours to allow emergency crews to respond and investigate.
