Fatal Frederick County car crash death of Jovanni Asael Romero Montano – Obituary

Authorities from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a deadly accident on Route 7 around 10:50 p.m. on August 12. When emergency crews arrived, they found 31-year-old Jovanni Asael Romero Montano of Oxon Hill, Maryland, had been ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

 

Another passenger, 34-year-old Alvero Zepeda from Herndon, was taken to Winchester Medical Center to receive medical care. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Ever Hazael Calles Flores, initially fled the crash site but later showed up at Winchester Medical Center with injuries that appeared to be from the collision.

 

The investigation temporarily closed Route 7 in both directions. Law enforcement later confirmed that both excessive speed and alcohol were factors in the incident. Sheriff Lenny Millholland urged residents to always designate a sober driver when consuming alcohol. Clarke County Sheriff Travis Sumption also addressed the ongoing dangers of speeding, impaired, and distracted driving on Route 7.
