Fatal Etowah County car crash death of Lisa O. Fitts – Obituary

Lisa O. Fitts, a 40-year-old woman from Boaz, died on Wednesday following a single-vehicle accident in Etowah County, Alabama.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the collision occurred around 4:25 p.m. when a 2004 Honda Accord left the roadway, collided with a culvert, overturned, and ultimately crashed into a house. Fitts was a passenger in the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.

Authorities confirmed that Fitts was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Kevin A. Owens, sustained injuries and was flown to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Investigators noted that neither person was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The incident took place on Whitesboro Road near Beech Street, roughly three miles east of Sardis in Etowah County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to look into the cause of the crash.
