Maria Yolanda Stewart, 76, tragically lost her life in a house fire early Tuesday morning in the 1200 block of Rigsby Avenue in San Antonio, Texas. The blaze led to her death from inhaling toxic combustion fumes.

Her son, 47-year-old Todd Benjamin Stewart, was arrested at the scene by the San Antonio Fire Department. Authorities believe he is responsible for starting the fire that led to his mother’s death.

He was taken to the Bexar County Jail and now faces a felony charge of arson resulting in bodily injury or death.
