North Little Rock, Arkansas Man Jacob Goff-Stanick Arrested in Officer-Involved Shooting on McCain Boulevard
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS — Jacob Goff-Stanick, a 27-year-old resident of North Little Rock, was arrested Thursday morning in connection with an officer-involved shooting that occurred during a traffic stop on East McCain Boulevard.
According to the North Little Rock Police Department, the incident began around 6:45 a.m. when officers initiated a traffic stop in the 4100 block of McCain Boulevard. Authorities say Goff-Stanick, who was a passenger in the vehicle, exited and quickly walked away before officers made contact with the driver.
An officer located Goff-Stanick shortly afterward and instructed him to stop, but he fled. During the ensuing foot chase, police say Goff-Stanick turned toward the officer with a firearm and began shooting. The officer returned fire, striking Goff-Stanick once in the abdomen. Despite being hit, Goff-Stanick continued firing until he ultimately dropped his weapon and was taken into custody.
Goff-Stanick was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is currently facing charges related to the shooting. Police also recovered four plastic bags suspected to contain methamphetamine, one bag of fentanyl, and two digital scales from a fanny pack he was wearing.
