Olympia, Washington Woman Tasha Felix Arrested in Thurston County for Attempted Check Fraud

OLYMPIA, WA — Tasha Felix, a 39-year-old resident of Olympia, was arrested in Thurston County in connection with an attempted check fraud incident that occurred earlier this month.

According to the Olympia Police Department, Felix was taken into custody on Monday, May 12, during an investigation at the Washington State Employees Credit Union on Harrison Avenue NW. Authorities say the incident took place around 4:54 p.m. when bank staff reported a suspicious attempt to cash a $287.80 check made out to “Seattle Times.”

Felix initially claimed to be cashing the check on behalf of a friend and later said that “Siete Times” was her Spanish name. However, surveillance footage showed she entered the bank alone. The rightful owner of the check confirmed it had been lost days earlier and denied knowing Felix.

Felix was transported to Thurston County Jail and is currently facing charges of second-degree possession of stolen property and second-degree identity theft.
