Tampa, Florida Man Jefry Maldonado Hernandez Arrested for DUI Manslaughter in Fatal Crash

TAMPA, FLORIDA — Jefry Maldonado Hernandez, a 25-year-old resident of Tampa, was arrested early Saturday morning in connection with a fatal DUI crash that occurred at the intersection of W Busch Boulevard and N Armenia Avenue.

According to the Tampa Police Department, Maldonado Hernandez was driving eastbound on W Busch Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. when he accelerated through a red light and struck a Lexus driven by a man in his early 60s. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities said Maldonado Hernandez showed signs of impairment at the scene and was taken into custody. He is currently facing charges of vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter, and driving without a valid license.
