Missing Woman Brenda Bormann-Corbin found dead in Charlotte County

Brenda Bormann-Corbin dies in fatal Charlotte County discovery

Fatal Charlotte County death of Brenda Bormann-Corbin – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that the body of Brenda Bormann-Corbin, a 58-year-old woman who had been reported missing in Cape Coral, was located last Friday in Charlotte County, bringing a tragic end to the search for her.

Bormann-Corbin was found near the intersection of Bermont Road and Chiquita Drive in Punta Gorda, just days after her disappearance was reported. Her daughter, Heather Bliss, described her as a gentle, caring woman who was deeply loved and would never harm anyone.

Bliss, who lives in Mississippi, said her mother had recently been diagnosed with dementia and was receiving treatment at a hospital in Tampa. However, a friend with legal guardianship removed her from the facility, claiming it was an unsuitable environment, and took her to a residence in Cape Coral a few weeks before her death.

The circumstances surrounding Bormann-Corbin’s death remain unclear, and multiple agencies—including Cape Coral Police, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission—are actively investigating.

Bliss and her brother are now left to arrange their mother’s funeral and try to process the unexpected loss. “It’s been incredibly difficult for him too,” Bliss said, noting her brother is doing his best to stay strong for the family.

She is holding onto hope for clarity and justice, asking for prayers as the family awaits the results of the autopsy, which is scheduled for early this week. “My mom didn’t deserve this,” Bliss said. “Maybe I’ll find peace once I get some answers.”

A GoFundMe page has been launched by Bliss to assist with funeral expenses and is accessible through her Facebook profile.
