Carlisle, Pennsylvania Man Martin Leroy Brinton Arrested in Carlisle for DUI, Homicide by Vehicle
CARLISLE, PA — Martin Leroy Brinton, a 57-year-old resident of Carlisle, was arrested in the borough in connection with a fatal DUI crash that left one pedestrian dead and another critically injured.
According to Carlisle Police, Brinton was taken into custody on Friday following an incident near South Hanover Street and West Pomfret Street. Authorities say the crash occurred around 8:17 p.m., when Brinton allegedly drove his vehicle onto the sidewalk and struck a 73-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man.
The woman later died at the hospital, while the man remains in critical condition. Police say Brinton was under the influence at the time of the crash.
Brinton was transported to an area hospital for treatment and later taken to Cumberland County Prison. He is currently facing charges including felony homicide by vehicle while DUI and aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI.
