Fatal Birmingham shooting death of Clayton Mark Randall – Obituary
Clayton Mark Randall, a 17-year-old from Sylvan Springs, was fatally shot on Saturday evening, May 24, in the Birmingham area following a day of boating.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, officers responded to a report of a shooting at around 8:10 p.m. in the 8600 block of Birmingport Road, located in the far western part of the city near Mulga. When officers arrived, they found Randall unresponsive inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound.
Birmingport Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate that Randall had been with a group of acquaintances engaged in recreational boating earlier that day. At some point after the boating activities ended, one of the individuals in the group fired a gun, fatally striking Randall.
Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. All individuals involved have been taken in for questioning as the case continues to unfold.
