Fatal Bay Minette shooting death of Dyrontae Condarrly Booker – Obituary

Dyrontae Condarrly Booker, a 21-year-old man from Atmore, was killed in a shooting late Friday night in Bay Minette, Alabama, according to local authorities.

 

Bay Minette Police said an officer on patrol around 10:20 p.m. heard gunfire and soon discovered Booker lying in a yard on Daphne Road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The officer noticed a man fleeing on foot from a nearby house where a large gathering was taking place and initiated a chase, but lost the suspect after several blocks.

 

Booker was rushed to North Baldwin Infirmary but did not survive his injuries.

 

Investigators have identified 28-year-old Decareus Keywon Mallory Andrews of Bay Minette as the primary suspect in the shooting. Police have warned the public that Andrews is considered armed and dangerous and remains on the run.

 

Authorities believe the incident was not random, indicating that Booker and the suspect knew each other.
