Fatal Fordham Heights shooting death of Kevin Jennings – Obituary

Kevin Jennings, 57, was fatally shot on the evening of Sunday, May 18, 2025, outside 374 East 188th Street in the Fordham Heights neighborhood of The Bronx.

Officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call around 6:45 p.m. reporting gunfire and found Jennings with a gunshot wound to the head. A second victim, a 34-year-old woman, had been shot in the leg.

Emergency medical services transported both individuals to St. Barnabas Hospital. Jennings was later pronounced dead, while the woman was treated and listed in stable condition.

Investigators said Jennings had been walking in the area when a suspect opened fire, hitting him in the head. The shooter then ran eastbound on East 188th Street and has not yet been apprehended.
