Fatal Wichita, Kansas shooting death of Naomi Oglesby – Obituary

Naomi Oglesby, a 20-year-old pregnant woman, tragically died after being shot at a Wichita apartment early Sunday morning. Despite her critical condition, doctors were able to deliver her baby, who is currently receiving care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Wichita Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of South Laura around 4:28 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Oglesby suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.

Police arrested a 19-year-old male suspect at the scene who reportedly knew Oglesby. He has been charged with first-degree murder. The case remains under active investigation.
