Fatal Allamakee County vehicle-deer collision death of Heather Lynn Jones – Obituary

Heather Lynn Jones, age 33, of Raymond, Iowa, lost her life on May 23 in a tragic crash involving an off-road vehicle and a deer on Paint Creek Drive. Jones was a passenger when the driver, Jason Lee Matthias, also 33 from Cedar Falls, Iowa, lost control of the vehicle shortly after 9 p.m. The vehicle struck an embankment, flipped onto its side, and trapped Jones beneath it. Emergency responders from the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, Waterville Fire and Rescue, and Veterans Memorial Hospital attended the scene. Jones was pronounced dead at the site. The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
