Fatal Lake Charles hit-and-run crash death of Lijuan Guo – Obituary

Lijuan Guo, 58, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Lake Charles on Nelson Road during the early morning hours of May 16, 2025.

Authorities say Guo and another woman were struck by a vehicle near Elmer Lane around 2:30 a.m. They were found near the roadside, where Guo was pronounced dead. The second woman sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized in Lafayette.

Police identified 18-year-old Christopher Landez-Navarrete as the suspect. He was taken into custody on the day of the crash after officers located his vehicle at a residence on 16th Street. He faces two felony counts of hit-and-run related to the incident.
