Fatal Nelson Road hit-and-run death of Lijuan Guo – Obituary

Authorities have identified the pedestrian who lost her life in a recent hit-and-run incident on Nelson Road as 58-year-old Lijuan Guo.

The tragic crash occurred near Elmer Lane around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, when two women were struck. Guo was killed, while the second victim was seriously injured and remains hospitalized in Lafayette.

Eighteen-year-old Christopher Landez-Navarrete was arrested on the day of the incident. His vehicle was located at a residence on 16th Street, leading to his arrest on two felony hit-and-run charges.
