Fatal Kandiyohi County semitrailer rollover injury of Steven Buchholz – Obituary
Steven Buchholz, 59, of Stacy, was hurt Monday afternoon when the semitrailer he was driving, loaded with hogs, rolled over on Kandiyohi County Road 5 Southwest near Roseland. The accident occurred around 12:47 p.m. as Buchholz lost control navigating a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and tip into a ditch.
Emergency responders closed the road for several hours to clear the scene and assist Buchholz, who was taken to CentraCare — Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. There have been no updates on his condition as of Tuesday morning.
The truck and trailer are owned by Anderson Farms, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Multiple agencies including Minnesota State Patrol, Renville County Sheriff’s Office, local fire departments, ambulance services, and county public works aided at the crash site.
Investigators indicated that the rollover was caused by loss of control on the curve, with no other factors reported at this time. Traffic was rerouted while crews worked to clear the accident.
