Fatal Bishopville shooting death of Tanasia Parker – Obituary
Tanasia Parker, 31, was tragically shot and killed in a murder-suicide incident at her home on Crystal Drive in Bishopville, South Carolina, on Sunday morning. Authorities reported that 51-year-old Jermaine Wesley, Parker’s boyfriend, shot her before taking his own life. Both victims were found inside the residence—Parker in a bedroom and Wesley in a bathroom.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Wesley sent a text message to his family admitting to killing Parker and stating his intention to kill himself. Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting. Parker’s family described her as a loving mother to her 4-year-old son William and remembered her as warm, outgoing, and full of life. The family was unaware of any signs of conflict between Parker and Wesley, who appeared to be happy together. Authorities confirmed no other suspects are involved and say the public is not at risk. Autopsies are scheduled to confirm the cause of death.
