Beth Martin dies in fatal Istanbul, Turkey medical incident

Fatal Istanbul, Turkey medical incident death of Beth Martin – Obituary

Beth Martin, a 28-year-old woman from Portsmouth, United Kingdom, tragically passed away while vacationing in Turkey. The mother of two had reportedly fallen ill during her flight to Istanbul, initially suspecting she was suffering from food poisoning. However, her condition worsened soon after arriving in Turkey.

She was admitted to Marmara University Hospital in Istanbul, where she became increasingly unwell and was declared dead on April 29, just a day after her hospitalization. Initial suspicions led authorities to consider the possibility of poisoning, and her husband, Luke Martin, was temporarily barred from seeing her body. He was eventually allowed a final visit after pleading with hospital staff.

The situation became even more distressing when it was reported that Martin’s heart was missing from her chest during the autopsy. These revelations have prompted an official investigation and brought intense scrutiny upon the hospital involved.

In response to public outcry and media reports, the Turkish Health Ministry issued a statement confirming that Martin died from cardiac arrest linked to multiple organ failure. They stated she was categorized as a forensic case, and only a preliminary, non-invasive autopsy was performed, which failed to determine a precise cause of death. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, and the Marmara University Hospital remains under examination.

The British Embassy has not made a public comment but is said to be assisting the Martin family as they cope with the devastating loss.
