Fatal Hesperia shooting death of Blake Rutledge – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that 27-year-old Blake Sterling Rutledge, a resident of Hesperia, was the man fatally shot at a residence last Friday morning. The incident unfolded around 6:15 a.m. on May 23, 2025, at a home on the 16000 block of Sequoia Street in Hesperia.

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the area following reports of gunfire. Upon entering the house, deputies discovered Rutledge suffering from gunshot injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
