Fatal Orange shooting death of Charles Decloute – Obituary
Charles Decloute, a 62-year-old resident of Orange, Texas, lost his life late Monday night after being shot in the head at his home. He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by helicopter, where he was later declared dead.
Authorities responded to a report of a shooting around 9:48 p.m. on May 26, 2025, in the 2000 block of 6th Street. When officers arrived, they discovered Decloute with a gunshot wound. Emergency responders provided immediate medical assistance at the scene before he was airlifted for further care.
Neighbors in the area told a 12News crew that they heard multiple gunshots ring out during the incident.
The Orange Police Department has confirmed that an autopsy will be performed as part of their active investigation. At this time, no suspects have been identified, and police have not released details regarding the motive or events leading to the shooting.
