Fatal Phoenix hit-and-run death of Christian Lopez-Kitelinger – Obituary

Christian Lopez-Kitelinger, 21, lost his life after being hit by a vehicle while walking along a Phoenix sidewalk late last week. Authorities are still searching for the driver responsible for the tragic incident.

Phoenix police were called to the area near 24th and Grand avenues shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday. When officers arrived, they found Lopez-Kitelinger lying in the roadway. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Investigators discovered that a car traveling northwest on Grand Avenue veered off the road and struck Lopez-Kitelinger as he walked along the east sidewalk. According to police, the driver briefly exited the vehicle after the crash, then returned to the car and fled the scene.

As of now, no details about the suspect or the vehicle have been released. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips that result in an arrest could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 through Silent Witness.
