Damian Anthony Lanza dies in fatal Wiley Ford, West Virginia car crash

Fatal Wiley Ford, West Virginia car crash death of Damian Anthony Lanza – Obituary

Damian Anthony Lanza, 55, from Fairhope, Pennsylvania, was killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision on state Route 28 near Wiley Ford, according to the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred at approximately 7:12 a.m. when Lanza’s Nissan Versa crossed over the center line and collided with a 2019 Ford Edge driven by 26-year-old Jason Lloyd Yaider of Paw Paw.

Lanza became trapped inside his vehicle and was declared dead at the scene. Yaider was transported to UPMC Western Maryland for treatment of injuries, though his current condition has not been disclosed.

Firefighters from Wiley Ford, Ridgeley, Short Gap, and Cumberland responded to the crash site located just south of John Chaney Road. During the investigation, the Division of Highways temporarily closed the roadway and rerouted traffic to allow emergency personnel to work safely. Authorities continue to examine the details surrounding the fatal collision.
