Fatal Perryman motorcycle crash death of Dionne McKelvin Jr. – Obituary

Dionne McKelvin Jr., a 26-year-old man from Aberdeen, lost his life on Memorial Day after a collision with a semi-truck at a busy Perryman intersection.

The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Monday at the crossroads of Route 40 and Old Philadelphia Road, which are also known as Route 7 and Route 159. According to Maryland State Police, McKelvin was traveling eastbound on Route 7 and attempted a right-hand turn onto Route 40 as a tractor-trailer was simultaneously making a turn onto the same roadway from Route 159.

The motorcycle and the semi collided in the intersection, and McKelvin was declared dead at the scene. Investigators concluded that McKelvin failed to yield to the oncoming semi during the turn.

Authorities confirmed that no other injuries were reported in the crash.
