Esteban Vicente Sacalxot dies in fatal Trenton shooting

Fatal Trenton shooting death of Esteban Vicente Sacalxot – Obituary

Authorities in Mercer County have identified Esteban Vicente Sacalxot, a 55-year-old resident of Trenton, as the victim in a deadly shooting that occurred on the evening of March 17, 2025. Responding officers discovered Sacalxot with several gunshot wounds to his torso inside a residence on the 300 block of Dayton Street. He was declared dead at the scene.

The incident began when local police received reports of bullet damage to an adjoining home around 9:30 p.m. During a welfare check, officers entered the residence and found Sacalxot gravely wounded.

Following an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force, Alfonso Inestroza—also known as Franquin Inestroza-Martinez—was identified as the primary suspect in the case. Inestroza, age 30 and reportedly from Trenton, now faces charges connected to the homicide. Authorities say he is armed and dangerous, with a history of carrying handguns.

Inestroza is described as a Honduran national, standing 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing between 135 and 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Law enforcement officials urge anyone who spots him to avoid approaching and instead call 911 immediately.

The U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force is actively working to locate Inestroza. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact MCHTF Detective Zachary Ortman at (609) 273-2451, Sgt. William Jett at (609) 331-5010, or email tips to [email protected].
