Fatal Huntsville pedestrian death of Garry Woods – Obituary

Garry Woods, 67, lost his life Tuesday night after he was struck by a vehicle while walking along University Drive in Huntsville, Alabama.

Huntsville Police reported that the collision happened near the intersection of University Drive and Sparkman Drive at approximately 9:30 p.m. Authorities said Woods had been walking in the roadway outside a marked crosswalk when he was hit.

Emergency responders pronounced Woods dead at the scene. The driver involved stayed at the location and cooperated with the police.

The department’s Traffic Homicide Unit launched an investigation into the incident, and officials currently do not expect to file any charges in connection with the case.
