James Thigpen, 33, tragically lost his life late Tuesday night when his car collided with a tree and caught fire on Radabaugh Road in Madison Township, Ohio. Authorities from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office confirmed he was the sole occupant of the four-door sedan.

Emergency services were alerted to the scene around 11:30 p.m. with initial reports indicating Thigpen may have been trapped and unresponsive. Air Care was dispatched, but due to poor weather conditions, the helicopter was unable to fly.

Fire crews managed to extinguish the blaze, and the area was cleared by about 3 a.m. on Wednesday. Although the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, Sgt. Joe Agnew of the sheriff’s office suggested that excessive speed likely contributed to the fatal incident.

The investigation is ongoing as officials work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
