Judy Scharf dies in fatal Lancaster County pedestrian crash

Fatal Lancaster County pedestrian crash death of Judy Scharf – Obituary

Judy Scharf, an 85-year-old woman from Elizabethtown, lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in Lancaster County on Monday morning.

 

The incident occurred around 9:06 a.m. near the crossroads of South Market and West Bainbridge streets in Elizabethtown Borough, an area surrounded by homes and marked crosswalks on all sides where multiple lanes of traffic intersect.

 

Authorities reported that Scharf, who lived on James Buchanan Drive—approximately a mile and a half from the crash site—was hit while walking in the area.

 

Emergency responders transported her to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Sadly, she died from multiple traumatic injuries, according to the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office.

 

As of Wednesday, no charges have been filed in connection to the incident. It remains unclear whether the driver stayed at the scene following the crash.
