Fatal Houston car crash death of Maxie Davis – Obituary

Houston police are currently looking into a deadly collision that happened around 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, along the service road of 700 North Sam Houston Parkway West, also known as Beltway 8.

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Maxie Davis. Investigators say a white Mazda CRX was heading eastbound on North Sam Houston Parkway West when it was struck by a silver Ford Mustang that was traveling south on Greens Crossing Boulevard. The crash occurred at the intersection of the two roads.

Emergency responders arrived on scene and pronounced Mr. Davis, the Mazda driver, dead at the location.

The Ford Mustang was driven by 25-year-old Marcos Morales Guzman, who had two young male passengers aged 3 and 5 with him. All three were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Authorities determined that Guzman was under the influence at the time of the crash. He is now facing a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child, and his case is being handled in the 230th State District Court. At this time, a booking photo is not available as Guzman remains hospitalized.
