Fatal Elephant Butte Lake drowning death of Me’lik Etienne – Obituary

Airman First Class Me’lik Etienne has been confirmed as the individual who drowned at Elephant Butte Lake in New Mexico, according to Kirtland Air Force Base officials. Etienne was reported missing on May 24, prompting a large-scale search effort.

After an exhaustive rescue operation failed to locate him, the mission transitioned into a recovery. His body was ultimately found on May 26. Authorities have stated that alcohol was not a factor in the incident.

Etienne had recently married and is survived by his wife and other close relatives.
